Joining the BEDA community in 2022, Anita comes with 27 years of experience teaching in Boston Public Schools. In her role as Special Education Program leader, she strives to support inclusionary teaching practices and special education accommodations. Transition planning is also pertinent to her role, helping families and students understand and access resources for post-graduate exploration and planning. Anita is a proponent of experiential learning and understands the value of providing opportunities for students. Anita has Master’s degrees in Elementary Education from Lesley University and Mathematics from Harvard. She is currently completing a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Northeastern University. In her personal life, Anita enjoys spending time with her daughters and dogs. Her favorite hobbies include skiing, salsa dancing, and consuming large amounts of ice cream.
