Christopher Johnson, Math Teacher

Chris started at BDEA in 2004 in the math department. Prior to working at BDEA Chris taught at King K-8 Middle school and the Thompson Middle School. Chris has worked as an operations manager at Staples and prior to that BankBoston now Santander Bank. While working at BankBoston Chris worked with elementary school students in grades 3-5 as a volunteer through BankBoston educational initiative that connected Elementary students with Professionals to provide mentoring and support in their learning. Chris also worked to help create the black history month program during this time at BankBoston. Chris holds a B.S in Business Management From Johnson and Wales University and an M.ED in Education with a concentration in Mathematics from Umass Boston. Chris is currently co-coordinator of BDEA’s Ta program and also an advisory board member of Umass Boston’s Project TLC (Teachers Learning with Counselors) and also helping to create a mentoring program for graduate students in Project TLC to support them with becoming educators in Boston Public Schools. Chris is an avid sports fan and enjoys time with his family and being outdoors and listening to music.
